Watching their own children create memories with their grandparents over the years and having the success of their company, Carson Wealth, Ron and Jeanie Carson wanted to be able to share their wealth and give back to the community. They created The Dreamweaver Foundation to give end-of-life dreams to terminally-ill seniors who have no means of fulfilling a dream either on their own or through a family member as a way make their own life-long memories.

Having lost a parent at the age of 63 to Multiple Myeloma, I am far too familiar with knowing the importance of memories and how they can forever impact the lives of loved ones and this is just one reason why The Dreamweaver Foundation is so special.

Working with our dreamers, you begin to realize what our foundation means to this person. You don’t just learn about their illness, you get to know everything about them and who they are as an individual.

You learn their passions, favorite foods, least-favorite foods and types of music they listen to or like to sing. You discover how many children, grandchildren and sometimes great-grandchildren they have and look through years and years of photographs as they tell you a story about each one. You hear the excitement in their voice as you begin to plan their dream with them, down to the very last element.

We may leave some little details aside as a surprise for them on their special day and you begin to see a hope in their eyes, one that wasn’t there when you first met. One that lets them know that someone is there to help them achieve that dream they’ve longed to fulfill.

I spoke earlier on the importance of the memories created with each dream and how they can forever impact the lives of their loved ones and I mention this because the dreams we give are more than tangible, they are an experience. They are moments shared with friends and family, volunteers and members of our foundation.

We have seen dreamers rally back from their illnesses, only to pass just days after their dream has taken place; but what is so special are the memories they were able to create. They can close their eyes and see the excitement on their sister’s child-like face as she splashes in the ocean. He can remember the music as he stood alongside his best friend for 30 years as they listened to his favorite Skynyrd songs played and she will relive the moment her husband smiled, as he held and met his great-grandson for the first and only time. These memories will forever live on. This is what makes The Dreamweaver Foundation so special.

To help make these dreams come true, The Dreamweaver Foundation holds an online auction and fundraiser each year that coincides with the Carson Wealth Annual Holiday Brunch! The goal for 2015 was to raise $150,000 with 78 items up-for-bid including private flights and weekend getaways to Napa and Arizona as well as family-fun-packs, movie nights, hunting trips and shopping sprees!

There were items signed from the likes of PGA Tour pros, Rickie Fowler and Jason Day, and an autographed guitar from country music singer, Jake Owen! Ndamukong Suh signed a #93 Husker jersey and Coach Bobby Knight even signed a red chair! All of these donations and more helped up surpass our goal and we raised a grand total of $205,044.00!

The Dreamweaver Foundation would like to thank our Presenting Auction Sponsor Pinnacle Bank and our sponsors in partner; Xenon Academy, Scheels, The American Charitable Foundation and Carson Wealth. Thank you to our community, our donors, The Dreamweaver Foundation Board of Directors, nominators, all of the supporters of the foundation and to our dreamers. Thank you all for helping make dreams come true in 2016!
