Giving Thanks This Holiday Season

With Thanksgiving just days away, I thought I’d take some time to share what makes me so thankful this holiday season. After all, aside from spending wonderful time with family and sharing great food (and wine), this holiday is all about reflecting and giving thanks for the year’s blessings.

One of my philosophies in serving clients at Carson Wealth is to focus on what I do best, then hire a staff to do the rest and get out of their way. I have such pride for the foundation and values we’ve established at Carson Wealth but I can’t even express how proud I am of the staff that helps us execute our mission each day: to inspire our clients to achieve True Wealth through education, communication and service, which exceeds their expectations. For their hard work and dedication to delivering a superior customer experience for our clients, I am thankful for the team at Carson Wealth.

I’m also thankful to have the opportunity to speak out on the issues that are so important to me as financial advisor, which plague our industry:

  • The need for increased transparency – Many consumers have no idea about the hidden fees in our industry. At Carson Wealth, we believe in providing straightforward communications so clients understand the fees they’re paying, but many advisors don’t fully disclose these costs. It’s an issue that I’m passionate about so I will continue to serve as a consumer advocate and speak out against this problem in our industry.
  • Lack of succession planning – It is my personal goal to inspire advisors to implement a succession solution. If your financial advisor was to go to bed tonight and unexpectedly not wake up, what would happen to your money? According to a Moss Adam’s study, only 7% of advisors have an executed succession plan. That’s a very scary number when you think about the devastation that could be inflicted on clients if a life-changing event unexpectedly occurred.
  • Misunderstanding of True Wealth – To me, money is just a tool to help you get to where you want to be in life. My definition of True Wealth is all that we have that money cannot buy and death cannot take away. Financial planning is should be more than just achieving financial freedom – your plan should also focus on helping you achieve your lifelong dreams. At Carson Wealth, our goal is to inspire our clients to identify passions and goals, then we create a blueprint to help you get what you truly want out of life.

This past year, we’ve successfully launched Carson Group Partners, a partnership that allows advisors across the nation become Carson Wealth capable overnight, offering them a flexible approach and on-demand succession solution. I’m so thankful to have connected with each partner. These advisors really fit the same culture as Carson Wealth – they’re growth-minded, client-centered, solutions-focused advisors dedicated to revolutionizing the client wealth experience. Through this network of partners, we’re making a difference in the financial services industry and redefining what it means to provide exceptional client service.

My wife, Jeanie, and I launched the Dreamweaver Foundation earlier this year and I cannot express how thankful I am to be able to touch the lives of others through our non-profit organization. The Dreamweaver Foundation is dedicated to fulfilling end-of-life dreams for impoverished seniors with terminal illnesses, making dreams come true as a special way to thank and honor our seniors in their last days — and to create long-lasting memories for those who give. We’ve been so fortunate to meet some incredible and selfless members of our community including recipients of dreams, those who have nominated the dreamers, donors to the foundation and those who help make these dreams come true. Jeanie and I look forward to continuing to grow the Dreamweaver Foundation so we can fulfill even more dreams next year.

Finally, I’m thankful for my wonderful family: my wife, three children, three dogs and cat. I’m also thankful for my extended family including my Carson Wealth team, Carson Group Partners, clients and others who help me on my journey to positively impact 1,000,000 lives.

I’d like to wish you and your family a very happy holiday season!

Ron

A Time for Giving

Recently, my boyfriend and I decided to take part in our church’s Christmas donation for families in need. We picked a family number and were given a paper with a family of kids’ names, ages, gender and a couple of presents on their Christmas list.
